Why money is an uncomfortable topic for womeny women.

Why is money an uncomfortable topic for many women?

The ability to become financially independent is very new to women, relatively speaking. For most of human history, women were dependent on men financially. Women couldn't own property or keep their own wealth. It wasn't until the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 (thank you RBG!) that women were guaranteed the right to make independent financial decisions in the United States.

Because for most of human history, women were forbidden to accumulate assets. The ability to become financially inependent is very new to women, relatively speaking. For most of human history, women were dependent on men financially. Women couldn't own property or keep their own wealth. It wasn't until the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 (thank you RBG!) that women were guaranteed the right to make independent financial decisions in the United States. Practically speaking, that means that just 50 years ago, women weren't guaranteed the right to get a credit card, open an investment account or own property without a man's signature. Women didn't have the ability to make independent financial decisions. Think of the women in your life who were in adulthood back then. Ask them about their experiences.

Despite all the challenges we face today, women in America have more financial choices than women have EVER HAD in the history of humanity.

And the impact of financial independence is profound.

    Wealth provides choices.

You can choose who you live with and where you live. You have a much greater ability to choose your employer (or work for yourself)!

Financial independence makes it easier for you to get the healthcare you need and provide your children with the care and education they need.

In short, wealth enables you not to be dependent on anyone else.

So take the next step toward financial independence (and invite your friends and daughters) to join me in my Master Your Money program.
